I will only give a simple explanation here so you can understand what crypto mining is all about. For technical explanations I recommend searching the Internet.
Cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, can be created through a 'miner'. A miner is just a software application that automatically performs complicated calculations using either your computer's processor or graphics card. When enough calculations have been completed, a small reward is given to the miner for its efforts. This reward is in the form of the crypto currency being mined.
As I'm sure you know, crypto currencies can then be exchanged for real money (American Dollars, Euro, British Pounds, Yen, etc.). It does not generate much money and definitely is not a get-rich-quick-scheme. The amount of profits fluctuate based on the value of Bitcoin as well as other coins. With a decent graphics card mining for 24 hours you can expect less than $5.00. That being said, the stronger your computer hardware, the faster the miner will work.
This should be enough information for you to understand what it's all about. If you would like to do some crypto mining for me to help me out I would greatly appreciate it. However, this is optional of course. 🙂
